Tasting Notes

Colour: Light ruby red
Nose: Bright strawberries and raspberries with layers of spice, incense, and stewed cherries
Palate: Silky tannins, cherry, earth, forest floor and a smooth, medium-length finish

After years of careful cellaring, this wine has evolved into a masterpiece — velvety, complex, and balanced, with signature cool-climate Pinot character.

Winemaking + Vineyard

• Region: Kangarilla, Adelaide Hills (350m elevation)

• Production: Only 180 cases

• Fermentation: Open ferment with 10% whole bunch – a traditional method that adds depth, spice, and tannin complexity

• Ageing: 9 months in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads

• Winemaker: Phil Christiansen

Whole bunch fermentation allows for intact stems to add aromatic and textural layers — enhancing the structure and character of this Pinot Noir.

A dry winter and warm spring led to strong flowering and fruit set. These conditions, followed by a stable growing season, allowed for optimal ripeness and flavour development.
