2023 vintage in the Adelaide Hills Vineyard was a season of surprises. Though winter rainfall was close to average, unusually dry weather in July caused difficulties managing disease and fruit set. The season ended on an optimistic note, with a welcome break in the weather reducing disease risk. A warm February helped to speed early ripening. By contrast, cooler-than-average temperatures over March and April slowed ripening and increased the time grapes needed to reach maturity with bunches hanging on the vine for longer
